Maintenance Technician

Schedule:

Full-Time: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm, on call rotation

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks across agency facilities. This role supports safe, clean, and functional environments for clients and staff by addressing maintenance issues promptly and professionally under the direction of a Maintenance Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct general maintenance and repairs, troubleshooting and fixing issues in plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, and HVAC units as assigned, ensuring building functionality.
  • Complete preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules.
  • Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify and report safety hazards or facility concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
  • Follow all safety protocols, agency policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with facility inspections and seasonal maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with moving items as requested.
  • Accurately document completed work and materials used.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with vendors while purchasing supplies and materials.
  • Performs custodial duties as assigned.
  • Perform snow removal, lawn care and other seasonal work as directed.
  • Participates in in-service training as recommended.
  • Participates in on-call rotation for maintenance emergencies
  • Provide on-call or emergency maintenance support as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or that may develop.
  • Management has the right to add or change the duties of this position at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required: A High School Diploma or high school equivalency diploma.

Preferred: Post secondary trade or vocational school a plus. Two years' experience in general building construction or building/facility maintenance. Proficient in one of the following areas: Electrical and mechanical aptitude; carpentry, painting, plumbing, building and property maintenance, Heating/AC, Appliance repair.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Required: Must maintain valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
