Job Description RN CSDU Fulltime Nights (47205) - Erlanger Baroness Hospital Chattanooga, TN Position Summary Regular - Non-exempt - Full-time - Standard Hours 36 Job Summary A registered professional nurse employed on the Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSDU) of Erlanger Health System is responsible for direct and indirect care of patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures/surgery, invasive pulmonary procedures/surgery, and those experiencing acute myocardial infarction and/or cardiac rhythm disturbances. Education Graduate from accredited School of Nursing. Annual Erlanger Health System HLC courses. Preferred Education N/A Experience Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills. Knowledge of organizational functions, policies, and regulations. Knowledge of current trends and new developments. Knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education. Preferred Experience N/A License/Certification/Registration Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee. BLS certification completed prior to going to the unit/department and to be maintained going forward. ACLS and NIHSS certification to be completed within the first 6 months of hire to the unit/department and to be maintained going forward. Annual training as required by area of practice (Annual review day/Elsevier's/EOLs). Preferred Licensure Certification by specialty within 1 year of exam eligibility for area of practice (CVRN/ANCC). Department Position Summary The RN on the Cardiac Stepdown Unit must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive direct and/or indirect care of patients undergoing cardiac and/or pulmonary procedures/surgery, as well as patients experiencing acute myocardial infarction and/or cardiac rhythm disturbances. The registered nurse must assess and monitor patients pre- and post-procedure, administer medications, and assist with bedside procedures under the direction of EHS physicians. The RN must demonstrate knowledge appropriate to the age of the patients served on the Cardiac Stepdown Unit, including principles of growth and development over the lifespan, and must be able to assess data reflective of the patient's status to provide age‑specific care as described in the unit's policies and procedures manual. #J-18808-Ljbffr
