Airport Police Officer

The Roanoke Regional Airport Commission is seeking dedicated, professional, and service-oriented law enforcement officers to join our Airport Police Department. Airport Police Officers play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the traveling public, airport employees, tenants, and visitors. What You'll Do As an Airport Police Officer, you will: Protect the traveling public, airport employees, tenants, and visitors through proactive law enforcement and community policing. Patrol airport facilities, parking areas, terminal buildings, secure areas, and the airfield to maintain a safe and secure environment. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from a Virginia Police Academy. Current eligibility to maintain Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Law Enforcement certification. Valid Virginia driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance for unescorted access to secure airport areas. Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Criminal Justice or a related field. Three years of law enforcement experience with a local, state, or federal agency. Experience in aviation security, transportation security, or community policing.
