About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 - 07:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Valid nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS required before start date; ENPC within 90 days of hire Must-Have: 2 years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center or comprehensive stroke center. At least 1 year of experience in an emergency department setting. Teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback. Flexibility to work in all areas of the emergency department. Description: This emergency department consists of 101 beds. Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients. Ratios can increase to 7:1 for behavioral holds. Technicians are available to support in cardiac monitoring and internal processing areas, including triage. Unit clerks are present for both day and night shifts. The department uses various types of equipment, including pumps and monitors. The documentation system utilized is Cerner. Scheduling requires working every other weekend, and block scheduling is not available. The floating policy allows for movement within the emergency department but prohibits floating outside of the department. Patient experience must be prioritized, utilizing AIDET principles and ensuring respectful behavior throughout patient interactions. The department is known for its strong teamwork and welcoming personalities. Staff enjoys serving a diverse community with over 120 languages represented.
