Occupational Health Nurse :

Job Description Position: Occupational Health Nurse Location: Waxahachie, TX Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Hourly Rate: $40.00 / hour Benefits Available. Weekly Pay. Responsibilities Promote the health and well‑being of employees at the Waxahachie facilities. Coordinate all Corporate Health and Medical Services processes and activities. Provide leadership on health‑related issues for employees, supervisors, and facility leadership teams. Provide occupational health and wellness services at the plants. Coordinate health initiatives on behalf of employees and contractors, in partnership with the local medical community when applicable. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to prevent and manage injuries and illnesses. Plan, implement, and manage health‑related programs. Provide first‑aid treatment and case‑manage both work‑related and non‑work‑related injuries and illnesses. Lead wellness initiatives and track metrics at the plant. Work closely with Disability Case Managers, Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjustors, Human Resources Professionals, and Environmental Health & Safety Leaders. Provide nursing care to plant employees as needed and make referrals. Conduct annual audiometric testing, vision exams, pulmonary function exams, and fit testing. Manage the facility clinic and administrative aspects of occupational health clinics within the designated region. Coordinate return‑to‑duty processes in collaboration with disability and claims personnel. Control medical costs while promoting good health for employees. Champion employee health and wellness initiatives such as Healthy Living and other sponsored events, achieving specified participation levels. Review medical surveillance exam data and conduct follow‑ups with employees within specified guidelines. Evaluate employee physical conditioning and assess risks associated with equipment in the Fitness Center. Live the Safety stand and adhere to safety responsibilities. Implement a personal safety action plan and review with leadership. Work with medical providers to ensure quality treatment for occupational illnesses and injuries. Partner with plant leadership to drive a zero‑injury culture. Lead the Wellness Pillar in the TPM journey. Qualifications BSN preferred; three‑year diploma or two‑year associate degree acceptable with RN licensure in the state of practice. Five (5) years of occupational health experience. Licensed registered Nurse. Certified Occupational Health Nurse (or eligible and willing to take the exam). Current CAOHC audiometry certification. Current NIOSH approved spirometry training. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of Occupational Health Nursing science and OSHA regulations and other regulatory requirements. Knowledge of state nurse practice acts, applicable board of pharmacy statutes, and applicable ethical guidelines. Computer skills sufficient to operate the current PC office suite of software and the Health & Medical Services database. Personal Characteristics Possess interpersonal skills to work with people with different management and learning styles and cultural diversities. Adaptable to change. Ability to work with groups and independently. Ability to lead teams. Problem‑solving abilities and an analytical thought process. Presentation and communication skills.
