Registered Nurse - Endoscopy Mainland - Part Time Days

Overview The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care in inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The nurse coordinates the interdisciplinary plan of care and ensures alignment with the medical treatment plan. The patient care process includes assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Responsibilities Assessment - identify, gather and organize subjective and objective data pertaining to the patient/family/significant other, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural factors. Planning - identify actual or potential problems and desired outcomes (goals) that result in a documented plan of care, providing direction for the patient/family/significant other and the interdisciplinary team. Intervention - implement the specific interventions or orders in line with the plan of care and medical treatment plan. Evaluation - determine the effectiveness of interventions and the achievement of desired outcomes; document required actions and initiate reassessment and revisions as indicated. Document and communicate findings and actions based on assessment and reassessment to ensure continuity of care. Additional Responsibilities Coordinate compliance with scope of practice and applicable standards, procedural guidelines and organizational policy. Support performance improvement initiatives and provide leadership to other members of the patient care team. Participate in educational activities to promote ongoing professional growth. Qualifications Education/Licensure: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi-state license required. BLS required. RN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year and complete within 3 years if not initially BSN. Experience: Proficiency in clinical applications; 2 years medical/surgical and/or emergency room experience preferred. Certifications: ACLS required within 6 months of hire or transfer; ATCN or TNCC required within 24 months; PALS or ENPC within specified timelines; CPI as required for current staff and new hires by dates set; NRP for applicable units as required. Other: Valid NJ Driver's License required for all employees in Adult and Child Partial Programs. Specific unit requirements may include additional certifications such as CNOR for OR roles and ONS/chemotherapy competencies where applicable. Work Environment Potential exposure to hospital environment hazards, including bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases and hazardous substances. Physical requirements may include substantial standing, walking, lifting, pushing and pulling of equipment. Some departments may require color vision. Units/Campus/Populations Served Emergency Room, Trauma Bay, ICU/CTICU, CVU, HVU, PCU, OR, PACU, Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Oncology, Structural Heart, Labor and Delivery, NICU, Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, Wound Care, and related areas. Core competencies are assessed on the patient populations served, including but not limited to: Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Critical Care, Emergency, Behavioral Health, Endoscopy and Post-Anesthesia Care.
