As a Business Development Representative, you'll be the tip of the spear identifying and qualifying self-funded employers (100 to 5,000 employees) who are frustrated with rising healthcare costs and poor employee experience. You'll use AI tools to research prospects, personalize outreach, and start consultative conversations with HR leaders, CFOs, and benefits advisors about a solution they genuinely need. This is a hunter role built for someone who creates their own pipeline rather than waiting on leads.

Key Responsibilities

We're adding to our in-house BDR team. You'll be the tip of the spear identifying and qualifying self-funded employers (500-20,000 employees) who are frustrated with rising healthcare costs and poor employee experience. This role is critical to building our pipeline from $10M to $50M+ over the next 24 months.

This isn't telemarketing. You'll conduct intelligent research, personalize outreach, and have consultative conversations with HR leaders, CFOs, and benefits advisors about a solution they genuinely need. You will use AI tools throughout.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years B2B sales/BDR experience (healthcare, SaaS, or financial services preferred)
• Proven cold calling success — you're comfortable making 40-60 calls daily
• CRM proficiency (HubSpot strongly preferred)
• Self-funded employer benefits knowledge or ability to learn complex buying dynamics quickly

• Technical curiosity: You experiment with new tools (AI, automation, Chrome extensions) to find productivity edges
• Coachability: You implement feedback fast and iterate on what works
• Grit: Rejection doesn't faze you—you hit daily activity metrics regardless

Bonus Points:

• Experience selling to HR/Benefits buyers or CFOs
• Benefits broker relationships or brokerage background
• Familiarity with self-insured employer market (ERISA, stop-loss, TPA ecosystem)
• Track record of using AI tools to scale prospecting efforts (e.g., "Used ChatGPT to increase email response rates by 30%")
• HubSpot/CRM workflow/automation experience (sequences, AI-assisted deal scoring, custom properties)
