Tech - Surgical

Job Summary:

Supporting surgical teams in a critical access medical center, this role involves preparing and assisting in invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. The individual ensures the smooth operation of surgical activities and maintains sterile protocols to promote patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare the operating room by setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for each surgical procedure.
  
  
• 
  Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon efficiently during operations while anticipating their needs.
  
  
• 
  Verify surgical consent forms and ensure patient identity and procedure are correctly matched.
  
  
• 
  Assist in maintaining a sterile field and perform instrument counts to prevent errors.
  
  
• 
  Aid in the cleaning, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and supplies for ongoing or subsequent procedures.
  
  
• 
  Support team efforts in room turnover, including prepping for the next patient and ensuring all surgical protocols are followed.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology.
  
  
• 
  Have at least two years of recent experience in a surgical setting.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved provider.
  
  
• 
  Be certified by the National Board of Surgical Technologists or the Association of Surgical Technologists.
  
  
• 
  Possess strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and safety protocols.
  
  
• 
  Be authorized to work, with compliance to all organizational vaccination requirements.
