Principal Infrastructure Engineer, Next Gen Network

Salary: $114,600 - 234,600 per year Requirements:

• We prefer a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• We prefer 6+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems or network control plane software.
• We look for strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including L2/L3, routing protocols, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SDN, and WAN technologies.
• We expect advanced programming experience in at least one systems language such as Go, C++, Rust, or Java.
• We value a deep understanding of algorithms, distributed systems principles, and system reliability.
• We seek experience building resilient, high-performing software in production, cloud, or large enterprise environments.
• We value a proven track record of technical leadership, mentoring, and delivering results on complex initiatives.

• We design, build, and support key parts of OCIs unified network control plane, with a focus on data center and WAN orchestration.
• We apply expertise in networking technologies to create resilient, scalable, and highly available control systems.
• We develop and tune algorithms for network resource allocation, topology discovery, route calculation, and fault recovery.
• We write robust, well-tested code in systems programming languages such as Go, C++, Rust, or Java.
• We take ownership of difficult distributed systems issues in production-scale control planes and real-time network state.
• We lead code and design reviews to uphold high standards and best practices.
• We mentor less experienced engineers and help foster a collaborative technical culture.
• We partner with SRE, hardware, security, and product teams to deliver features and capabilities end to end.
