Cook Position at Malibu Jack's Lafayette

Cooks at Malibu Jack's are friendly, upbeat individuals with a desire to provide high quality food products, safely and efficiently. This role is responsible for ensuring that all menu items are prepared accurately, working with the team to manage low ticket times and uncompromising food quality, practicing safe food handling, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and working under pressure.

Cooks report to the Kitchen Manager

Qualifications:

• Exemplify the company's core values
• Ensure optimum guest experience
• Hold team accountable for quality, consistency, and upkeep of sanitization standards as set forth by company and state regulations
• Practice an ownership mentality with an emphasis in motivation and teamwork
• Maintain highest levels of quality & presentation
• Accurately portion all orders to ensure low food cost

Safety:

• Ensures areas are free from hazards that would potentially injure staff or guests
• Addresses and immediately corrects any practices that lower safety standards

Education and/or Experience:

• Kitchen experience preferred, but not required
• Ability and willingness to eventually learn all stations on the line

Computer skills:

• Understands and can operate the POS system

Language skills:

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Mathematical skills:

• Basic Mathematics

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to solve practical problems deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, or stand on their feet for an extended period of time, bend and twist their body, and may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.

Additional Requirements:

• Position requires consistent activity, such as walking, bending and lifting
• Must be able to work holidays and weekends
• Employment may require background check
