HVAC Technician

HVAC Technician II Facilities Management department: requires significant experience in HVAC maintenance, repair, or installation. Preferably actively pursuing a formal licensure or working in a formal apprenticeship. May be required to perform other maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or assisting with other projects. Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00–3:30pm (Full time) Essential Functions: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Performs routine to moderately complex maintenance and inspections, diagnosing and repairing issues, ensuring all systems are operating efficiently and effectively. Works with boilers, chillers, air handlers, control systems, building automation, steam systems, cooling towers, etc. Works with little or minimal supervision. Skills HVAC systems Refrigeration systems Chillers Refrigerant handling Boiler operations Steam systems Cooling towers Building automation systems Electrical control systems Troubleshooting Safety Required Qualifications Experience as an HVAC technician. Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above. Valid driver’s license (may be required). Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a healthcare setting. Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs. Frequent interactions with customers that require quick and accurate communication. Manual dexterity for manipulating complex equipment. Frequent computer, phone, and cable set‑up and use. Ability to lift, transport, pull, push equipment up to heavy items. Work on hands and knees, bend, stoop, crawl, lay, sit, walk, and climb. Use of hand and power tools, hearing and eye protection. Exposure to extreme temperatures, noisy or constricted spaces, odors, and smells. For roles requiring driving, expected to drive a vehicle, view signs, traffic signals, other vehicles. Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.
