FULL DESCRIPTION:   We are seeking a Production Technician to support production assembly, component preparation, documentation, quality checks, and continuous improvement activities in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for following detailed assembly instructions, preparing parts and materials, assembling helmets and components, measuring completed components, reporting quality or process concerns, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and supporting quality management system requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, familiarity with manufacturing or assembly, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Following detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures
• Preparing work by reviewing assembly instructions, parts lists, and work orders
• Gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials needed for assigned work
• Positioning parts and subassemblies using model build specifications or work orders
• Assembling helmets and related components
• Examining connections for correct fit
• Fastening parts and subassemblies according to specifications
• Measuring completed components to verify specifications
• Producing products to meet customer specifications
• Performing repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations on safety helmet assemblies
• Using standard measuring devices as needed
• Reading drawings and process instructions
• Complying with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the quality system
• Reporting quality, process, equipment, and material concerns to the Production Supervisor
• Providing hands-on job function training to coworkers as needed
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area to support Lean manufacturing practices
• Assisting with ISO 9001 Quality Management System review and continual improvement processes
• Making suggestions and supporting daily process improvements
• Using critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
• Balancing attention to detail with big-picture thinking
• Remaining flexible and comfortable with change
• Maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Performing other duties as assigned

The selected candidate will also possess:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Production assembly experience preferred
• Familiarity with manufacturing or assembly required
• Ability to use standard measuring devices required
• Ability to read drawings and process instructions preferred
• Strong attention to detail required
• Ability to work independently required
• Ability to work as part of a team required
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people required
• Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency and meet deadlines required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, lift, carry, and move throughout production and assembly areas as needed
• Ability to use hands and fingers for assembly, fastening, measuring, documentation, material handling, component preparation, and standard production tasks
• Ability to work with helmet assemblies, parts, subassemblies, tools, materials, measuring devices, and related production equipment
• Ability to visually inspect parts, connections, components, measurements, finished assemblies, and completed work for quality and accuracy
• Ability to perform detailed, repetitive hand and finger movements while maintaining accuracy and quality standards
• Ability to read assembly instructions, parts lists, work orders, drawings, process instructions, quality documentation, and computer screens as needed
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move standard production materials, parts, tools, assemblies, and equipment as needed
• Ability to work around production equipment, assembly tools, materials, and shop floor activity
• Ability to wear required PPE and follow all safety, quality, production, ISO 9001, and material handling procedures
• Ability to maintain focus, accuracy, and attention to detail in a manufacturing and production assembly environment

Salary Range: $17 to $18/hour DOE
