Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control Specialist in Polk City, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors, conduct routine patrols, and support a welcoming, orderly environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to utility facility personnel, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers by carrying out site-specific procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry and exit, and directing authorized individuals according to site policies.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by observing access-control systems, reporting unusual activity or credential concerns, and following established escalation procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, facility areas, and perimeter locations, reporting hazards, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
