Responsibilities Perform diagnostic testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, and other laboratory specialties Analyze and verify test results while ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of critical values Collect, receive, process, and prepare patient specimens for testing and reference laboratory send-outs Perform quality control, instrument maintenance, and basic troubleshooting to ensure reliable testing Follow laboratory policies, regulatory standards, and safety guidelines Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records Assist with training and mentoring new team members and laboratory students Qualifications Education: Bachelor degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology degree from an accredited institution OR Qualify as Testing Personnel under Federal Register Sec 493.1489(b)(2) & General Supervisor under Federal Register Sec 493.1461 License(s)/Certification(s) Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). #J-18808-Ljbffr UnityPoint Health
