Software Engineer - Build Systems

Salary: $126,000 - 166,000 per year Requirements:

• We need at least 2 years of software engineering experience in developer tooling, backend, infrastructure, or systems environments.
• We look for experience designing testing approaches and running software in production with metrics, telemetry, and performance data to assess behavior, uncover bottlenecks, and guide system improvements.
• Experience with distributed systems, scheduling, or caching at scale is preferred.
• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, or SRE practices is preferred.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to boost individual and team productivity is preferred.
• Background with build systems such as Swift Build, Bazel, or Buck is preferred.

• We design, build, and operate our distributed build platform and related automation systems.
• We solve large-scale distributed systems and build performance challenges within our Build System.
• We collaborate with partners across the company to improve distributed scheduling, build correctness, caching strategies, and overall build efficiency.
• We develop new features from concept through delivery and ongoing operation.
• We create testing strategies, measure results, and use data analysis to validate impact and improve reliability.
• We support production systems on call and work to minimize service disruption.
• We continuously enhance our build pipelines and software development capabilities across the company.
