Pay: $30-35/hr

Job Description
This position is for a Machine Mechanic within a rebuilding and job shop, custom machine building environment. Employees will start by evaluating machines, breaking them down, determining root causes, problem-solving, and repairing and rebuilding equipment.
Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repair of used packaging machines.
• Identify root causes of issues and implement repairs to ensure machines operate productively.
• Utilize hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
• Work with power tools such as power drills and impacts.
• Read and interpret tape measures when necessary.
• Assist with fabrication and production tasks.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, machine builder, or custom automotive mechanic/fabricator.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and assemble machines.
• Understanding of mechanical repair, hydraulics, electrical systems, machine building, schematics, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with pneumatics, blueprint reading, welding, machine and electrical assembly, maintenance technician tasks, wiring, and installation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carol Stream, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
