Bookkeeper & Tax Preparer - Part-Time (Onsite - Darien, IL)

The Mom Project is excited to partner with a well-established CPA firm located in the Chicago suburbs to hire an experienced Bookkeeper & Tax Preparer . This is a part-time opportunity averaging approximately 20–25 hours per week , ideal for an accounting professional looking for a flexible schedule while continuing to work directly with clients and maintain hands-on bookkeeping and tax experience. This is a hybrid role , and candidates must live within commuting distance of ZIP Code 60561 and be available to work onsite 2–3 days per week . Location: Chicago suburbs – ZIP Code 60561 Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20–25 hours per week Work Arrangement: Hybrid; 2-3 days onsite per week What You’ll Do Provide ongoing bookkeeping and general accounting support for clients Prepare individual (1040), partnership (1065), corporate (1120), S corporation (1120S), and trust tax returns Assist with compilations and reviews Work directly with clients to gather financial information, answer questions, and resolve accounting and tax-related matters Research tax and accounting issues as neededMaintain accurate client records and ensure work is completed on time Manage multiple client priorities and deadlines Communicate with clients and team members in a timely, professional, and positive manner Support a diverse client base, including individuals, business owners, small businesses, trusts, franchises, and high-net-worth clients What We’re Looking For Hands-on bookkeeping and general accounting experience Experience preparing individual and business tax returns Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations Ability to independently manage multiple client accounts and deadlines Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Public accounting or CPA firm experience strongly preferred CPA designation preferred Experience with CCH Axcess is a plus Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred Must be local to the Chicago area and able to work onsite 2–3 days per week Why You’ll Love This Opportunity Flexible 20–25 hour-per-week schedule Hybrid work environment Family-first culture with flexibility around personal commitments Small, supportive firm where your contributions are visible and valued Opportunity to work with a broad and interesting client base 401(k) with employer contribution equal to 3% of salary Paid vacation Collaborative environment with experienced accounting professionals #J-18808-Ljbffr BBG Ventures, LLC
