Software Engineer Mainframe CICS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
• We need demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes in the mainframe discipline, including COBOL, DB2, and JCL, plus hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot and REST services.
• We expect practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We need proficiency in coding in one or more programming languages.
• We expect a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• We require familiarity with agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Preferred: experience in core accounting or financial services.
• Preferred: familiarity with MQ, DB2 Stored Procedures, AWS, and Kafka.
• Preferred: exposure to cloud technologies.

• We execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using inventive approaches to solve complex problems.
• We create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with appropriate systems.
• We produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure software code aligns with design constraints.
• We gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize data from large and diverse datasets to support continuous improvement of applications and systems.
• We proactively identify hidden issues and patterns in data and use these insights to improve coding practices and system architecture.
• We contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies.
