What You'll Do:

• Partner with the Store Team Leader (STL) on staffing efforts, including recruiting, onboarding, and cross-training, to ensure the store is adequately resourced.
• Assist the STL in implementing daily operational standards (animal care, safety, cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and security) to ensure a consistent, high-quality neighbor experience.
• Facilitate training and onboarding programs for new hires and existing staff, ensuring consistency in skills and service delivery across the team.
• Support in motivating and developing team members through recognition, coaching, mentoring, and reinforcement of company culture and values.
• Assist with local community partnerships, events, and brand-building activities to enhance neighbor engagement and loyalty.

What We're Looking For:

• Genuine passion for pets with interest in pet care and nutrition
• Strong communication and leadership skills with attention to detail
• 2+ years of retail experience in a leadership role
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
• Ability to safely operate all store equipment (including forklift)
