Retail Manager

General Responsibilities Answer questions concerning club services. Maintain billing charges of members and guests; submit billing charges to the accounting department in a timely manner. Develop open-to-buy procedures for each category. Promote daily Gift Shop sales and superior customer relations. Plan the promotion of merchandise and market special events and sales. Develop and maintain shop displays. Monitor the receiving and checking-in of all merchandise. Process all paperwork and coding on invoices. Coordinate inventory and provide monthly inventory reports. Maintain all inventory SKU controls for all items in inventory and pricing. Monitor procedures for special orders and returns. Sign for and accept full responsibility for a cash bank to be used for operational needs and cashing member checks. Assist customers with merchandise selections and work at sales counter as necessary. Select, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate gift shop salespersons. Create and maintain an approved vendor list. Supervise and maintain the Point-of-Sale (POS) system. Order special order merchandise for members. Work closely with the Gate Attendant to alert staff of incoming guests and requests from members. Coordinate shop changeovers for special events and seasons. Attend staff meetings. Perform other appropriate tasks assigned by the Clubhouse Manager. Education and Experience Bachelor’s or associate degree in hospitality management or related field. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Exceptional customer service and communication abilities. Ability to meet financial targets and drive revenue growth. Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of club operations and/or hospitality industry experience is preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment typical of this position. Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling. Frequent repetitive motions. Continuous standing and walking.
