NS Lead

The NS Lead is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the kitchen and Café, ensuring that all tasks are completed according to expectations. Key responsibilities include:

• Accurately completing tasks in a timely manner and showing competent organizational skills.
• Daily leadership responsibilities:
• Effectively and proactively communicating with staff and leadership.
• Proactively communicating daily issues to supervisor.
• Ensuring daily task assignments are completed by staff.
• Assurance that production and service deadlines are met and staff is performing duties as scheduled.
• Ensuring staff is adequately trained and all tasks are completed as scheduled.
• Holding staff accountable, coaching employees, and consistently documenting conversations in Manager Log.
• Rewarding and recognizing positive staff feedback and contributions.
• Ensuring accurate and up-to-date work routines are provided and followed.
• Managing staff shortages, arranging for coverage when staff have unscheduled absences, and utilizing a proactive approach to keeping overtime to a minimum.
• Taking ownership of errors and looking for ways to improve or fix them.
• Ensuring excellent patient and customer service processes are followed.
• Working and overseeing the room service line ensuring tray accuracy, food quality and temperature, and the line is operating at the expected pace.
• Responsible for validating food storage, production, and service areas are in compliance with regulatory requirements at all times.
• Communicating ongoing concerns to supervisor.
• Ensuring temperature logs are completed and taking corrective action if needed.
• Responsible for accurate cash handling and reporting.
• Maintaining daily POS and Café menu board ensuring accuracy.
• Monitoring waste and ensuring waste log is filled out by staff.
• Training employees to ensure competence with equipment and chemicals.
• Implementing changes and suggestions to maximize work flow and productivity.
