Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's Medical Facility in Lafayette, LA 70506. This is a 3-month assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Lafayette, LA 70506

Duration: 3 months Contract (Possibilities of extension)

Pay rate: $20-23/hr. On W2 (Pay Rate is based on experience)

Schedule: Mon – Thu from 7:45 am to 4:45 pm and Friday from 8 am to 2:30 pm (40 hrs./ wk.)

Travel: As needed for coverage in Baton Rouge, LA.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Assist providers with patient care by following through on treatment plans and provider orders
2. Take and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information
3. Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures
4. Perform blood draws and specimen collection as applicable
5. Conduct x-rays if certified and authorized
6. Support daily clinical operations and participate in direct patient care activities
7. Maintain accurate patient records and update documentation within the medical record system
8. Monitor exam rooms, supplies, and clinical equipment to ensure readiness for patient care
9. Communicate with patients regarding appointments, care instructions, and follow-up needs
10. Adhere to clinic, hospital, safety, and infection control protocols

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a hospital/ clinic setting.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification/ Registration. (preferred, not required)
