A registered nurse specializing in the step-down unit in Anderson, Indiana, is sought to provide specialized nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and assessment but not meeting criteria for intensive care. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Location: Anderson, Indiana
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid registered nursing license; relevant nursing education; zero years of experience required
• Additional Information: The role involves providing direct care for medically complex patients requiring telemetry, frequent monitoring, and specialized interventions. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms, administering medications safely, managing devices such as telemetry monitoring, IV drips, central lines, PICC lines, oxygen therapy, and high-flow oxygen, implementing and evaluating patient care plans, collaborating with healthcare team members, educating patients and families, and ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). The nurse must recognize early signs of patient deterioration and adhere to infection prevention and patient safety standards.
