Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience required. License: Valid state license required. Certifications: Nursing certifications required. Must-Have: - Pediatric experience is required. - Experience with cardiopulmonary bypass is required. - Experience with specialized cardiac trays and OR equipment used in cardiothoracic surgery is preferred. Description: The Cardiothoracic Surgery team cares for complex congenital heart disease cases, treating patients from birth through adulthood. Common diagnoses include hypoplastic left heart syndrome, tetralogy of Fallot, double outlet right ventricle, and other congenital cardiac and great vessel malformations. Key responsibilities include circulating and maintaining patient safety in the operating room. Assisting during cardiopulmonary bypass procedures is required. Facilitating and maintaining appropriate surgical time-outs is essential. Call requirements include one to two call days per week and two 48-hour weekend call shifts every eight weeks. Required response time for calls is 30 minutes. RTO requests must be submitted at the time of submission. Maximum of five RTO days are allowed. No block scheduling requests are permitted unless requesting weekends only. Candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. No exemptions or declinations will be accepted. Previous employees are ineligible for contract positions until one year after termination. References from supervisors within the past two years are required. Candidates may float within the hospital.
