Veterinary Technician Opportunity

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Spring, TX is hiring a driven and detail-focused Veterinary Technician for our Patient Care department. If you enjoy patient care and working in a fast-paced, challenging environment then this may be perfect for you!

As a BluePearl Patient Care Veterinary Technician:

• You will be able to calculate basic medical math.
• You compassionately, calmly, and gently approach and handle patients.
• You will understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
• You will administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• You will perform phlebotomy.
• You will have the ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in all peripheral veins.
• You will alert Veterinarian if patient's status changes and/or physical exam or monitoring parameters are outside of normal ranges.
• You will perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• You support Veterinarian and client through euthanasia process.
• You are able to read and follow orders written on treatment sheet accurately and in a timely manner.
