Position Summary

The Admissions Assistant plays a key role in supporting the admissions department and ensuring a smooth transition for incoming residents. This position serves as a liaison between hospitals, referral sources, families, and facility staff while assisting with admissions coordination, documentation, customer service, and census development efforts.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with the admissions process from referral through resident admission
• Communicate professionally with hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, physicians, families, and referral sources
• Maintain accurate admissions records and documentation
• Verify and collect required admission information
• Support tours for prospective residents and families
• Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries regarding services and availability
• Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth resident transitions
• Track referral activity and admissions data
• Provide exceptional customer service and follow-up communication

Qualifications

• Previous administrative, admissions, healthcare, customer service, or sales experience preferred
• Skilled in communication, organization, and multitasking
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Professional, compassionate, and customer-focused demeanor
• Experience in skilled nursing, post-acute care, healthcare admissions, or medical office settings is a plus
