Accountant II

Location: Houston, TX Duration: Full-time Pay Range: 70K-80K

Day-to-day:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and consolidation reports according to U.S. GAAP.
• Data Analysis & Review: Analyze general ledger and accrual accounts, investigate unusual activity, perform variance analysis, and create explanatory reports.
• Journal Entries & Audits: Handle routine and complex journal entries (including landfill cost updates and contract changes) while maintaining clear audit trails.
• Team Collaboration: Partner with operations, engineering, and other corporate finance teams (like SEC reporting); guide junior finance staff.

Must-haves:

• Between 3-7 years of experience of accounting experience
• SAP experience: specifically in fixed assets and intercompany transactions
• Public accounting experience
• Oil and gas background
