District Manager - Primary Care - Santa Barbara, CA

Amgen seeks a District Sales Manager for the Santa Barbara primary care territory to lead sales teams, manage district performance, and serve as a clinical liaison to medical professionals. The role requires managing team recruitment, compliance, performance reviews, and cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage district sales teams to achieve/exceed sales and budget targets
• Screen, interview, hire, and develop sales representatives
• Conduct performance reviews, competency assessments, and coaching for team development
• Track marketing message effectiveness and allocate internal/external resources
• Develop local opinion leader relationships and coordinate cross-functional initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 8 years sales/marketing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2+ years direct managerial experience managing people or leading teams and programs
• Ability to understand and articulate clinical concepts and data
• Strong coaching and performance management skills
• Specialty sales experience preferred
• Biologics or buy-and-bill model experience preferred
