Job Location: Sacramento, CA 95827. Position Type: Full Time. Salary Range: $83,600.00 - $90,700.00.

Position Summary

The General Manager in Training at Syufy Enterprises will learn and understand the overall operations of the location with the end goal of becoming a General Manager. Assisting the General Manager, the trainee will provide leadership, seamless customer service, optimize profitability, and maintain a safe, positive work environment. The role focuses on coaching staff, enforcing company standards, and delivering excellent guest experiences. Successful trainees will become a General Manager in 6 to 12 months, with promotion based on availability and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Utilize effective leadership techniques to develop the location management team to exceed goals.
• Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization by following company standards of team building and recognition.
• Establish and effectively manage Daily Location Activities/Priorities.
• Uphold the values of Exemplary Customer Service through modeling behavior and establishing guidelines.
• Maintain high standards of Cleanliness, Presentation and Food/Product Safety.
• Monitor the integrity of inventory control systems by working with Vendors, Concessions, Information Technology, and Accounting.
• Proper usage of the reporting systems in all functionalities, including Payroll, Inventory Management, COGS, Daily Sales, and Customer Service.
• Monitor sales and labor (payroll) daily with a goal to maximize profitability without sacrificing customer service.
• Work with Vice President of Operations and Accounting to maintain the established P&L for the location.
• Responsible for accurate inventories of goods by following procedures established by Home Office.
• Maintain inventory levels at optimum efficiency through order placement via vendors and appropriate home office personnel.
• Respond promptly to all Customer/Guest Services concerns.
• Monitor performance levels of the location through statistical analysis of all appropriate reports on a weekly basis.
• Maximize profitability of box office, concessions, games and other revenue sources.
• Manage all expenses, waste and shortages by taking corrective measures as necessary.
• Manage payroll, ensuring schedules are complete and break policies are followed according to city, state, and federal guidelines.
• Ensure well‑being of all location personnel through effective safety management.
• Enforce all policies, procedures, and company rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred. Ideal candidate has 2‑3 years of experience as a restaurant, public market, or movie theater manager.
• Hands‑on management style, ability to develop and lead an exceptional team, passion for hospitality, proven ability to drive sales and obtain results.
• Ability to travel up to 100% of the time prior to GM assignment.
• Food Handler’s Certification required, or must be completed within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Team building skills: empathy, building of self‑esteem, motivational techniques, coaching and empowerment.
• Strong presentation skills; can respond to questions from managers, vendors, and customers.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondences, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to manage time effectively and multi‑task.
• Computer literate in Word and Excel.
• Analytical ability for statistics, forecasting and budgeting.
• Knowledge of all POS systems.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Demonstrates strong customer service skills.
• Capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Works effectively in a team environment.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Frequent sitting and occasional standing, walking, reaching. Noise level may be moderate to high at times.
