Job Summary

Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical Telemetry. This acute care position supports patients with medical and telemetry needs, including pulmonary, renal, and postoperative diagnoses. The role requires recent Level I or II trauma hospital experience and participation in night-shift coverage.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.; 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, with holiday coverage typically required for two of three holidays.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of specialty experience; recent experience in a Level I or II trauma hospital; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; proficiency with electronic medical records; ability to interpret and verify telemetry strips.
• Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Additional Information: The unit provides care for patients with pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), radiation-related conditions, acute kidney injury (AKI), and occasional laparoscopic cholecystectomy or appendectomy cases. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5–6 during days and 1:6 during nights. Registered nurses manage non-titrated heparin and furosemide infusions, verify telemetry rhythms, and may work with bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) and stable tracheostomy patients. Patient care assistants and dedicated telemetry monitoring support are available.
