Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to program, set up, and operate Haas CNC mills and lathes in a job shop environment. This role focuses on producing custom and short-run parts, primarily from heavy steel, while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
Responsibilities

• Program, edit, and set up CNC machines using Mastercam.
• Operate Haas mills and lathes to produce one-off and short-run parts.
• Select tooling, set offsets, and verify dimensions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Perform quality inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot machining, setup, and programming issues.
• Optimize feeds, speeds, and cycle times for efficiency.
• Load and unload materials and maintain a safe work area.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience in a production or job shop environment.
• Proficiency with Haas mills, lathes, and Haas controls.
• Mastercam programming experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and hold tight tolerances.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with manual machining equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication and machining processes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Work Environment

Small, team-oriented machine shop specializing in equipment for the lumber industry. You'll work primarily with Haas CNC mills and lathes, Mastercam software, and heavy steel materials in a safety-focused manufacturing setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
