Clinical Research Specialist, Sr - Psychiatry - Child Div - CIRCA Project

CLINICAL RESEARCH SPECIALIST, SR – Psychiatry – CHILD AND FAMILY – CIRCA PROJECT This position will work on a pediatric sleep and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) research study. The overarching purpose of the research study is to better understand causes of sleep disturbances among children with ADHD during the peak period of referral and diagnosis (ages 6‑9) and how sleep and circadian problems contribute to clinical and cognitive presentations in ADHD. Study procedures involve wearable sensors to measure sleep and in‑lab dim light melatonin collection to measure circadian functioning, as well as collection of a range of clinical and cognitive measures in the participants. The study team will also have regular collaboration with RTI International, a nonprofit research institute located in Durham, N.C. dedicated to improving the human condition. The candidate will be involved in recruitment and enrollment of participants and running study visits. Position Description Recruitment and retention of research participants Execution of visits and data collection per protocol to include study interviews and computerized assessments Collection and processing of biosamples Minimum Requirements Associate’s degree One year of relevant experience required; a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for required experience Preferred Qualifications Experience with pediatric populations preferred Experience with or willingness to learn REDCap software Other Requirements Applicants must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule allowing for evening and weekend availability for participant sessions; late night Friday visits will be required 1‑2 times/month during the school year. Anticipated Pay Range Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $20.76 to USD $31.44.
