Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Athens, TX 75751

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Athens, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Patient ratio 1:6. Weekend coverage required. 12-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

• 91-day travel assignment in a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit with a daily census of 30 patients
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations with diagnoses including UTI, pneumonia, respiratory failure/COPD, sepsis, AKI, chest pain, cellulitis, and altered mental status
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, and Pharmacy
• Epic charting system experience required
• One pre-approved time off period available during contract

Requirements:

• Active RN license (state or compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with patient ratio of 1:6
• Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, cardiac drip management (no titration), MS/Tele, non-invasive airway management, and peripheral line care/management
• Geographic restriction: Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris counties are not eligible
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
