JOB SUMMARY
Work with our fire apparatus production team to ensure quality control throughout the facility. Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Review sub assembly for QC and production compliance.
- Interpret and comply with quality assurance standards set forth by Sutphen
- Review Engineering and Purchasing items for accuracy.
- Maintain facility alignment administratively
- Ability to communicate information to all appropriate departments and represent in meetings, in person or online.
- Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
- Ability to coach, train, and mentor co-workers on all quality control corrections/issues
- Static and dynamic testing of fire apparatus
- Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and dealers
WORKING CONDITIONS
Manufacturing environment; may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials.

- Must be able to use computers proficiently (Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PDF’s, etc.
- Must be very organized and have excellent follow-through skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work well under deadlines and ability to multitask.
- Must be able to complete paperwork in a timely and organized manner
- Must be able to work indoors or outdoors
- May require travel to sister properties in Ohio for trainings and meetings.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent
3+ years of industry experience or related quality control experience required
Previous managerial experience preferred
Clean / valid driver’s license
Ability to acquire Class B CDL with Airbrake and Tanker endorsements
LANGUAGE/SKILLS
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes required to stand for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to walk; stoop, bend, and climb; and work on overhead structures.
Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The use of lifting devices and the “Buddy System” are available.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protectors, safety shoes, etc.
