Raphael House is dedicated to ending homelessness. We tailor services for each family to provide them with the necessary support, education, and skills to assist them in obtaining housing, employment and self-sufficiency. Our Bridge Program offers aftercare services that include career development services, case management services, and children’s services to families outside of our residential shelter program. Case management services are focused on providing ongoing outreach and resource referrals to help clients maintain family stability. Career development services offer employment, education, and financial guidance. The Leadership Giving Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow philanthropic support from individual donors, foundations, and organizations. This position manages a portfolio of mid-level individual and institutional donors, oversees grant proposal development and reporting, conducts donor and prospect research, and supports the organization's overall fundraising goals through strategic relationship management and strong written communications. Key Duties and Responsibilities Mid-Level Donor Management Manage a portfolio of approximately 80–100 individual donors giving between $1,000 and $5,000 annually. Develop and implement cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal strategies to increase donor retention and giving levels. Conduct regular outreach through meetings, phone calls, emails, events, and personalized stewardship activities. Identify opportunities to upgrade annual donors into higher levels of philanthropic support. Institutional Giving Manage a portfolio of foundation and organizational donors, including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and reporting activities. Prepare, submit, and track grant applications, proposals, reports, and supporting documentation. Develop and maintain a grants calendar to ensure timely submission of proposals and reports. Write and submit approximately 20 grant proposals and funding requests annually to support organizational growth and program expansion with support from the contract grant writer for high demand seasons. Monitor grant requirements and ensure compliance with funder guidelines and reporting obligations. Grants Management & Coordination Participate in regular grants management meetings with program and leadership staff. Track grant deliverables, reporting deadlines, and funding outcomes. Collaborate with program, marketing, and finance teams to gather data, outcomes, budgets, and impact stories for proposals and reports. Oversee the work of the organization's contract grant writer, including project assignments, timelines, and deliverables. Prospect Research & Pipeline Development Conduct ongoing research to identify and qualify new foundation, and individual donor prospects. Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective funders and donors to support long-term fundraising growth. Utilize donor databases, prospect research tools, and industry resources to identify new funding opportunities. Writing & Communications Develop compelling written materials that effectively communicate Raphael House's mission, impact, programs, and funding priorities. Prepare grant proposals, donor communications, stewardship materials, insider reports and other fundraising content as needed. Maintain strong standards for written quality, accuracy, and consistency across fundraising communications. Reporting & Analytics Prepare regular fundraising pipeline and institutional giving reports for leadership. Develop and maintain prospect tracking and donor engagement reports and other fundraising performance metrics. Monitor progress toward fundraising goals and provide recommendations for growth opportunities. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, relevant fundraising or grant‑writing experience will be considered. 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, foundation giving, grants management, portfolio management, or nonprofit development. Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with experience developing persuasive fundraising materials. Experience managing donor and/or institutional funder portfolios. Demonstrated success in grant writing, institutional fundraising, or donor relations. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Experience with donor databases and prospect research tools preferred. Alignment with the mission and values of Raphael House. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. A writing sample may be requested. Ability to work a flexible schedule. This position is M‑F, with some evenings required for events, meetings, and/or onsite events for clients, and for other business needs Able to work independently and seek supervision when appropriate. Able to be flexible with working in a shared office space, as office spaces are limited, or as needed for onboarding of other staff, interns, and volunteers. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong time management skills are essential. This position is required to work on the computer for several hours per day. Able to navigate the Windows operating system and use Word, Excel, Google Suite Applications (Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, etc. Prior experience with Raiser’s Edge or other CRM software is a plus. This position will work on‑site at least two days each week, with core days on Tuesday and Thursday. Additional on‑site days may be needed for meetings, events, or other priorities. Lifting up to 10 pounds may be required in performing essential functions.
