We are designated as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations. In addition to our acute care hospital we also own and operate three Rural Health Clinics providing walk-in immediate care as well as scheduled appointments for routine medical needs. We are located in the northernmost area of California and are part of a network of care, including Mercy Medical Center Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life. Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals. To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic/therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

- Utilizing the speech therapy process for the planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care.
- Assesses the need for equipment, special devices as related to speech pathology treatment. Assures that equipment and supplies are adequate for department and patient care needs and utilized in a cost effective manner.
- Performs an initial and on-going assessment and evaluation based upon speech pathology concepts and principles that include: pertinent medical diagnosis and history, safety, family/caregiver support; speech and language production, hearing and aural status, cognition, reading and graphic formation, dysphasia, perception, mental emotional status pertinent to the chronological age and development stage of the pediatric, adult and elderly patient.
- Assesses the need for an in-depth assessment by other disciplines and makes appropriate referrals following policy procedures and guidelines.
- Provides individualized instruction in oral expression, writing skills and gesturing.
- Provides individualized instruction in swallowing disorders.
- Graduate of accredited speech and language pathologist program. and One year experience as a speech therapist., upon hire and
- Speech Language Pathologist: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire (Must be through the American Heart Association)
- Long-term care experience. and
- 6 months toone year home health experience
