About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembler to join a growing manufacturing team. In this position, you'll build high-quality hose assemblies by cutting plastic tubing, attaching fittings, and performing quality inspections to ensure products meet customer specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work, using tools, and working in a clean, organized shop environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Assemble hose products according to blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Measure and cut plastic tubing to precise lengths using tape measures and cutting equipment.
• Install and crimp fittings using hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery.
• Perform quality inspections to verify products meet specifications and company standards.
• Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow manufacturing procedures and production schedules.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Identify and communicate material, equipment, or quality concerns.
• Work independently after training while meeting productivity goals.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.

Required Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on manufacturing work.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Comfortable using tape measures and performing precise measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and stay productive throughout the shift.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, production, warehouse, or construction environments.
• Experience working with machinery or industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with hose assembly, fabrication, or mechanical assembly processes.
• Comfortable learning new tools, equipment, and manufacturing procedures.
• Industrial manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

This position is based in a smaller, well-maintained manufacturing shop that specializes in producing plastic tubing and hose assemblies. Employees work with cutting, crimping, and assembly equipment in a clean industrial setting. While some machinery creates moderate noise, the environment is organized, professional, and team-oriented. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM , providing excellent work-life balance.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
