Position Overview We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our 1st-shift team. Unlike a basic operator role, you will be responsible for taking jobs from a setup sheet through the first-piece inspection, troubleshooting the process, and ensuring the line runs flawlessly. Core Responsibilities Perform complete machine setups including installing fixtures, dialing in indicators, setting tool heights, and loading initial programs. Interpret mechanical blueprints and complex technical drawings utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles. Prove out new programs and make critical edits to G-code/M-code at the controller to optimize cycle times or correct errors. Execute first-piece and in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.). Troubleshoot machining issues independently, adjusting machine offsets, speeds, and feeds to maximize tool life and maintain tight aerospace tolerances. Maintain equipment continuity by performing routine preventive maintenance and ensuring a clean, safe workspace. Qualifications & Skills Required : 3+ years of professional CNC machining experience (setup and operation). Required : Deep understanding of blueprints, component tolerances, and tool selection. Required : Proven experience using high-level precision measuring equipment for strict quality control. Preferred : Prior experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with specialized alloys. Preferred : Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or similar multi-axis control systems. Preferred : Completion of a formal manufacturing trade school program or technical apprenticeship.
