Custodian / Bus Driver
Union County Community Action, Inc.
Work Location- Hamlet, Richmond County, NC

Help create clean, safe spaces where children can learn and families feel welcome. UCCA is seeking a dependable Custodian to maintain Head Start buildings and grounds and provide transportation support as assigned.

Your work will directly support the health, safety, and daily success of children, families, and staff.

Starting Rate: Up to $15 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:30am-4:30pm (40 hours/week)

What You’ll Do

• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, and common areas
• Assist with facility maintenance and supply organization
• Safely transport children to and from program locations
• Serve as a bus monitor when assigned
• Maintain safe and sanitary environments for children and staff
• Support program operations as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Related custodial or maintenance experience preferred
• CDL required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform physical custodial duties including standing, bending, lifting, mopping, and operating cleaning equipment. Position requires occasional lifting of  up to 50 pounds and the ability to safely operate a school bus.  Equal Opportunity Employer
