Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).Echodyne is seeking a SENIOR TEST ENGINEER to focus on Embedded Firmware.RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, execute, and maintain feature-level and end-to-end software test scenarios for complex embedded systems, radar firmware, and SDKsAnalyze product requirements and architecture to define test strategies, coverage, and acceptance criteria for radar functionality and supported commandsDevelop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test reports; manage defects through resolutionPerform manual, exploratory, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to identify product risks, edge cases, and failure modesBuild and maintain automated tests where they provide clear value, contributing to existing frameworksCollaborate with firmware, product, and software teams to improve testability and overall qualitySupport test environments, automation infrastructure, and test execution across projects and releasesMentor junior engineers and promote strong testing practices and a quality-first mindsetREQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE5+ years of experience in software testing, firmware QA, or embedded systems test engineering rolesStrong experience validating feature-level behavior, supported device commands, and SDK interactionsSolid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and test design techniques for embedded systemsExperience with test automation, including writing and maintaining automated tests (Python preferred)Experience working in environments with hardware and software dependencies, including flashing firmware and interacting directly with physical devicesPractical knowledge of Linux environments, Git workflows, and CI/CD concepts as applied to embedded systemsUnderstanding of software/firmware development practices, hardware debugging, defect investigation, and root cause analysisEchodyne’s technology is export controlled by the U.S. Government and we must evaluate an applicant’s eligibility to handle export-controlled information or obtain required Government authorizations.  Therefore, we will ask you as part of the application process to identify whether you are a U.S. Citizen or green card holder, or have asylum/refugee status in the U.S. WHAT WE OFFERThis is an exempt role.The expected annual salary range for this role is$137,196—$205,382 USDIf your skills generally align but not perfectly, please apply anyway.
