Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Editor to support map data editing, validation, and quality assurance activities for navigation and digital mapping applications. The ideal candidate should have experience in GIS editing, map data validation, navigation systems, and spatial data analysis , along with the ability to conduct research using open-source and registered data sources to maintain accurate and up-to-date mapping information.

Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Editor to support map data editing, validation, and quality assurance activities for navigation and digital mapping applications. The ideal candidate should have experience in GIS editing, map data validation, navigation systems, and spatial data analysis , along with the ability to conduct research using open-source and registered data sources to maintain accurate and up-to-date mapping information.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit, update, and maintain digital map data in accordance with project guidelines and quality standards.
- Complete client-provided training for map data layers, editing tools, workflows, and reporting processes.
- Perform map edits based on assigned work packages while ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct open-source and registered data source research to validate and corroborate mapping information.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve systematic errors and inconsistencies in map data.
- Perform quality checks and data validation to ensure navigation data meets project requirements.
- Track editing progress and maintain accurate documentation using client tools and reporting systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to resolve mapping issues and improve data quality.
- Utilize client applications and productivity tools for daily operations, communication, and reporting.
- Adhere to project timelines, quality standards, and established editing procedures.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in GIS, Digital Mapping, Navigation, or Map Data Editing .
- Experience with map editing, spatial data validation, and navigation systems.
- Ability to complete client training for map data layers, editing tools, and workflows.
- Strong research skills using open-source and authorized data sources.
- Ability to identify and resolve map data errors with high accuracy.
- Proficiency with macOS , including Numbers, Pages, Slack, Quip, Mail, Calendar , and related productivity tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work 5 days a week onsite in Austin, TX.
- Experience with GIS platforms or digital mapping technologies.
- Knowledge of navigation systems, geospatial concepts, and spatial data management.
- Familiarity with quality assurance and data validation processes.
- Experience working on large-scale mapping or geospatial data projects.
