Requisition #:675681 Location:Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD 21287 Category:EKG/EEG Technologist Schedule:Rotating Shift Employment Type:Full Time EEG Technologist II for the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Experience/Requirements Of The EEG Technologist II High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program or an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university strongly preferred. Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic & Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET), or its equivalent. A minimum of two years of work experience as an EEG Technician or equivalent experience in a related field if an AMA approved program in EEG Technology was not completed. BLS certification Knowledge/Skills Of The EEG Technologist II Include Requires a comprehensive understanding of all procedures conducted in the Neurophysiology division, including such procedures as electrocorticography and operative implants. A proficient level of understanding would normally be acquired through one to two years at the Technologist I level. Knowledge of electrographic seizures or interictal seizure discharges, as well as the ability to identify brainwaves and artifacts as acquired through three to six months in-house training. Requires ability to operate computer and video equipment, and to set-up and maintain surface or implanted electrodes. Ability to perform testing independent of direct supervision and maintain a high degree of credibility through accurate analysis and interpretation of test results. Analytic ability is required for analyzing patient history to determine proper testing procedures, for calibrating equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, eliminating recording artifacts, calculating test results, and composing preliminary reports. Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information with patients, physicians, office staff, or records personnel. To review all these benefits visit Salary Range: Minimum 28.39/hour - Maximum 46.87/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
