Job TitleHealth System SpecialistDutiesDuties may include but are not limited to:Provides full and complete support to the Deputy Chief, Strategic, Facility, and Master Planning in the planning, coordination, analysis and execution of administrative policies and programs and serves as an advisor on matters related to the internal and external operations of the GLAHS.Works with facility leadership to assure their input to business related projects.Responsible for directing all planning activities within the facility and assisting in developing the annual strategic/operational plan, which outlines local goals, initiatives, and departmental activities.Works closely with the Service Lines and Departments in the facility to obtain and consolidate planning information.Performs special studies and develops reports, proposals, business plans, position and issue papers which represent the facility's position concerning a variety of managerial and technical issues including planning initiatives, development of new programs and sites of care.Provides active and well-informed administrative participation in planning for the delivery of healthcare by taking the initiative to identify needs and potential issues/concerns and devising flexibilities in operations and constructive, cost- effective approaches to the resolution of problems.Tracks and monitors a multitude of ongoing studies and projects, briefing senior executives on project status, interfacing with Health Care System leadership to ensure effective and seamless project integration.Serves on variety of GLAHS committees and boards as appointed by the Director in varying capacities to include Co-chairperson, member, facilitator, or as a representative of the Strategic, Facility, and Master Planning.Serves as a special resource person for subcommittees, task forces, and steering groups throughout GLAHS.Work Schedule: Various tours of duty based on the needs of the service.Position Description Title/PD#: Health System Specialist/PD13949APhysical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and may include some need for occasional travel. The incumbent will be subjected to stressful situations due to short timeframes for completion of assignments and potential and actual conflicts.
