What You'll Do

Teaching & Student Success

• Deliver classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction using approved curriculum and educational best practices.
• Create an engaging, supportive learning environment that promotes student achievement and professional growth.
• Utilize a variety of instructional methods and resources, including technology, guest speakers, industry equipment, field experiences, and current industry materials.
• Provide students with course syllabi and clear expectations at the beginning of each course.
• Evaluate student performance through exams, projects, assignments, and practical assessments.
• Maintain accurate and timely grading, attendance, and academic records using Canvas, Portico, CampusVue, and other institutional systems.
• Monitor academic progress and actively support retention efforts through advising, attendance tracking, early alerts, and intervention strategies.
• Meet regularly with students to provide guidance, academic support, and career-focused mentoring.

Program Development & Collaboration

• Collaborate with Program Leadership to enhance curriculum quality and ensure alignment with industry standards.
• Provide recommendations regarding textbooks, instructional materials, and program resources.
• Participate in advisory board activities and support connections between academics and industry.
• Assist in maintaining organized, safe, and effective classroom and laboratory environments.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development programs, workshops, orientations, graduations, and institutional events.

Student Engagement & Leadership

• Support student activities, clubs, and campus initiatives when requested.
• Partner with academic leadership to address student concerns and promote student success.
• Contribute to a positive campus culture that encourages learning, professionalism, and achievement.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate attendance and grading records in accordance with institutional policies.
• Complete midterm evaluations and final grade submissions by required deadlines.
• Prepare classroom and instructional materials for upcoming terms.
• Report equipment, supply, technology, and safety needs to program leadership.
• Adhere to accreditation standards, school policies, faculty handbook guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience for Technical Instructor positions.
• Demonstrated expertise in the subject area through education, certifications, licensure, professional experience, transcripts, diplomas, or related credentials.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities.
• Ability to motivate, mentor, and support a diverse student population.
• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Postsecondary teaching or training experience.
• Degree, diploma, or certificate at least one level higher than the credential awarded within the program taught.
• Relevant professional certifications and industry licensure.
• Experience with learning management systems (Canvas preferred).
• Experience in classroom, laboratory, clinical, workforce development, or adult education environments.

Work Schedule: Hours may vary based on course assignments. Evening and weekend availability may be required.
