Body Shop Technician

Job Summary Repairs damaged body parts of heavy-duty vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards. Essential Duties
- Examine damage heavy and medium-duty trucks
- Document all repairs and pertinent information to the work performed and track job time on in-house business system(s) via a repair order
- Prepare and repair vehicle per estimate according to manufacturer standards
- De-trim, disassemble and repair vehicle with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Assist other Technicians in more difficult and complex maintenance and repair tasks if needed
- Maintain and enhance mechanical knowledge and stay current on required company training
- Occasional periods of lifting and carrying supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more
- Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, security, and quality management
- Recognize and report all accidents and hazardous conditions
- Promote workplace safety procedures
- Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
- Minimum 2 years' experience working on heavy/medium duty trucks
- Diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment utilized to in heavy truck repair
- Possess work-related hand tools (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools)
- A neat and organized approach to work & reporting
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to meet attendance requirement
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing or walking
- Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
- Must pass a respirator fit test
