Manufacturing Process/Continuous Improve __ In this role, you will have the opportunity to support manufacturing and production processes while developing your engineering skills through hands-on experience, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with experienced engineers and production teams to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance. You will work closely with experienced engineers and production teams to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance. - Support manufacturing operations by reviewing production processes, collecting and analyzing data, and helping identify opportunities to improve quality, cost, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Assist with continuous improvement activities including standardized work instructions, process documentation, 5S, Lean manufacturing, and problem-solving initiatives.
- Support the development and implementation of manufacturing solutions , including work cells, fixtures, jigs, tooling, and process improvements.
- Assist with facility and production layouts to support workflow improvements, new product introductions, and efficient use of manufacturing space.
- Participate in safety and ergonomic assessments of work areas and assist with implementing improvements to reduce risk and improve operator performance.
- Work collaboratively with production, quality, engineering, and other teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and identify practical solutions.
- Learn and apply engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement tools in a hands-on production environment.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET), or a related engineering field.
- 0-2 years of professional experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field. Recent graduates and candidates with relevant internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and problem-solving techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in improving manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with engineering and production teams.
- High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US permanently.
- Internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Familiarity with CAD or SOLIDWORKS ; CATIA experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP or other manufacturing/ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, SQL, coding, or other technical tools.
- Experience developing or working with standardized work instructions, process documentation, work cells, fixtures, tooling, or manufacturing layouts.
- Exposure to safety, ergonomics, or manufacturing process improvement activities
