What You'll DoAs a Structural MIG / Flux-Core Welder, you'll play a critical role in fabricating the steel structures that support major construction projects nationwide. Working with large beams, columns, and heavy steel components, you'll perform precision welding while ensuring every weld meets strict structural and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Weld plates to structural beams and columns used in large-scale building projects.
- Perform Flux-Core (FCAW) and MIG welding on structural steel, railings, stairs, and miscellaneous metal fabrications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols to determine weld locations and specifications.
- Accurately measure, lay out, and verify dimensions using tape measures and other measuring tools.
- Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment to produce high-quality structural welds.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and structural standards.
- Work with large steel assemblies, ensuring proper fit-up, alignment, and positioning before welding.
- Support fabrication processes including cutting, bending, welding, and finishing operations as needed.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with fabricators, welders, and production personnel to meet project timelines and quality expectations.
- Minimum one year of structural MIG welding experience, or completion of formal welding training focused on structural welding.
- Minimum one year of Flux-Core (FCAW) welding experience or equivalent education and training.
- Strong MIG and Flux-Core welding skills in structural applications.
- Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols.
- Proficiency using a tape measure and verifying dimensions accurately.
- Experience producing precise, high-quality welds on structural steel components.
- Solid understanding of structural welding techniques, standards, and best practices.
- Ability to work safely around large steel beams and heavy materials.
- Structural steel fabrication experience.
- Experience fabricating railings, stairs, platforms, and miscellaneous metals.
- Knowledge of the complete steel fabrication process, including cutting, forming, welding, and finishing.
- Experience working on both small custom projects and large structural assemblies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to continue developing skills through ongoing training and certification opportunities.

This position is based in a large structural steel fabrication facility designed to handle complex steel projects from start to finish. The shop includes cutting, bending, welding, and coating operations and works with large structural beams, columns, and heavy steel assemblies.
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Friday: 5:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Mandatory 49-hour workweek
This is an industrial manufacturing environment where attention to detail is critical. Weld quality must meet exact specifications, as the finished products become essential structural components in buildings and infrastructure projects. Appropriate PPE and adherence to safety procedures are required at all times.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of New Richmond, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
