Senior Software Engineer - Logistics Technology

Job Requirements Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments is seeking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to add to our growing Logistics Technology team. As a member of Logistics Technology, you will build and support a diverse set of tools used for managing inventory, order fulfillment, and distribution center operations. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will create an enhance the tools that our colleagues use to support our customers, including our custom business management applications that support thousands of users daily across Sweetwater.You will operate fluently in an AI-augmented development environment while using AI coding assistants and agentic tools as a force multiplier while applying senior-level judgement about when to lean on them, when to override them, and how to verify their output. You will be responsible for generating designing and developing AI-powered features that drive new customer insights, and you will help level up the team's AI fluency through coaching, mentoring, and modeling responsible AI-assisted engineering practices.We are looking for candidates who are hungry for the next challenge, exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills and take personal ownership of their projects. If you have these same qualities, we'd like to speak with you!Job Responsibilities Work with a diverse, expert team of engineers to build and support the front-end tools and back-end services we use to manage inventory, fulfill orders, and perform distribution center operations in a fast-moving environment.Build scalable, explainable, and well-vetter AI-powered features and models to drive new business capabilitiesLeverage AI development tools effectively and responsiblyUse AI coding assistants to accelerate delivery while maintaining code-quality , security, and architectural integrityReview AI-generated code with the same rigor as human-authored codeBuild scalable, testable, and reusable code using open-source technologiesWork with several communication protocols ( TCP, MQTT, Bluetooth) to facilitate interactions between connected devices like label printers, barcode scanners, conveyors, ...etc.Perform functions supporting all levels of the development lifecycle including scoping, development, testing, and managing release pipelines.QualificationsStrong experience with object-oriented languages (e.g., C#, Kotlin, Swift, PHP, Java,…)Expertise in a modern application development environment5-7+ years of professional software development experienceDemonstrated proficiency with AI coding assistants (i.e Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, ChatGPT, Co-Pilot, etc.)Experience with native mobile development tools like Android Studio and/or XCodeExperience reviewing and refining AI-generated code, including spotting hallucinated API's, subtle logic errors, security issues, and architectural driftFamiliarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol), agentic coding tools, or LLM-powered developer toolingExperience contributing to or shaping team-level AI adoption guidelines, governance, or evaluation frameworksHands-on experience designing AI/ML features (RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning, evaluation harnesses).Fluency with Git or other version control softwareSweetwater Ideal Team PlayerWOWs The Customer – You possess a deep passion and desire for creating amazing customer & colleague experiences Gets Things Done – You have a great work ethic and move through tasks with a sense of urgency Obsesses over the Details – You are committed to paying attention to the details Drives Continuous Improvement – You are always focusing on effective and efficient work and ways to get better Develops the Future – You are committed to the pursuit of growing personally & professionally and have a focus on bringing your colleagues along in that journey We function best as a unified team, so relocation to our state-of-the-art campusin Fort Wayne, INis required.
