Irby Utilities is uniquely positioned to provide dynamic solutions to essential utility services impacting our local and broader communities.About the RoleAs a Material Handler, you will support warehouse operations by performing manual and clerical duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. You may also deliver materials, equipment, and supplies as needed. Your logistical expertise will help add value to our efficiency and productivity. Primary responsibilities will include:Working independently to load, unload, and move materials within or near work siteUtilizing RF devices to fill orders and issue materials and supplies per requestsOperating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dolliesPacking and shipping customer orders accurately and efficientlyChampioning effective inventory management practicesAdhering to and promoting safety and security policies and proceduresDemonstrating exceptional reliability while maintaining a safe and clean work environmentMinimum Qualifications:Knowledge of safety practicesWillingness to work nights and weekends to assist with storm response efforts as requiredCustomer focused and team orientedAttention to detail and good time management skillsEffective communication skillsAbility to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English to perform the essential functions of the position, follow safety procedures, understand work-related instructions, and complete required documentationPhysical Demands:Ability to stand frequently and occasionally lift or move up to 50 poundsAbility to meet the position's vision requirements, including close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and focus adjustmentAbility to perform duties in a variety of environments and conditions, both indoor and outdoorPreferred QualificationsPIT/Forklift operation, understanding of OSHA and SDS.High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), one – two years desired from a two-year college; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Irby Utilities is a crucial link in the distribution chain, connecting manufacturers to their customers in electrical power, natural gas, and broadband services.
