Job Description

The Aerospace Production Worker constructs aircraft structural parts by laying up resin-infused carbon fiber and operating production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves physically demanding tasks, close adherence to engineering drawings and work instructions, and active participation in continuous improvement activities. The position requires flexibility to perform a variety of duties, support multiple departments, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity throughout the production process. This is an entry level position- no prior aerospace experience required

Responsibilities

• Shear and stretch hobes in accordance with work instructions and engineering requirements.
• Load metal sheets and other materials into production machines safely and efficiently.
• Monitor the production process to ensure parts meet quality standards and takt time requirements.
• Construct aircraft structural parts by laying up resin-infused carbon fiber in the specified sequence prior to autoclave processing.
• Adhere to company specifications, work instructions, engineering prints, and work orders at all times.
• Document all materials used in the process to maintain full traceability, including recording out-times for cold-stored materials.
• Build structural components using vacuum bagging techniques with resin systems and carbon fiber reinforcements.
• Identify, document, and communicate defects in tooling and materials to the appropriate personnel.
• Meet established takt times while maintaining the specified level of quality and consistency.
• Safely handle regulated materials used in the manufacturing process, following all safety procedures.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials and parts, after completing provided training.
• Perform basic housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance to support reliable and efficient production operations.
• Actively participate in operational improvement and continuous improvement activities.
• Cross-train in other tasks and processes and transfer to other departments as needed to support production demands.
• Carefully handle raw materials and manufactured parts to prevent damage and preserve product integrity and quality.
• Protect and maintain the confidentiality of company products, processes, and proprietary information.
• Adapt to changing business conditions by productively handling other essential tasks as assigned now or in the future.
• Work irregular or protracted hours, including overtime, when required to meet production schedules.
• Travel occasionally, as needed, to support work at other facilities or for training.
• Wear a full-face respirator for designated tasks and duties when required.
• Push, pull, and lift heavy materials (including loads of 80+ pounds, using two-person lifts when appropriate) in a safe manner.

Essential Skills

• Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, demonstrating a steady and relevant work history.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• Legible handwriting and printing for accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
• Good basic math skills to support measurements, counts, and material tracking.
• Ability to read and follow engineering blueprints and drawings.
• Capability to push, pull, and lift 80+ pounds, using proper lifting techniques and two-person lifts when available.
• Willingness to wear and properly use a full-face respirator for certain tasks and duties.
• High level of motivation with the ability to work independently and as a team member to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Willingness to work overtime and irregular hours as needed to meet production demands.
• Ability to handle regulated materials safely, following established procedures.
• Basic machine operation skills for production equipment.
• Attention to detail to maintain quality, traceability, and compliance with specifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience working in a production, machine operation, or general labor environment.
• Experience with assembly, inspection, and the use of hand tools in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to interpret and work from engineering blueprints and technical documentation.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to operate and understand systems running on Windows Operating System.
• Familiarity with manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems such as M3 and Royal 5, and product data management tools such as SmarTeam, is beneficial.
• Comfort working in a non-entry-level manufacturing role with increasing responsibility.
• Willingness to cross-train and learn new processes, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to adapt to changes in tasks and products based on the needs of the division.
• Openness to minor travel and potential relocation to another facility if required.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility focused on aerospace production, where you will work around machinery, materials, and tooling used to construct aircraft structural components. The work is physically demanding and involves frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods. Employment status may be part-time, full-time, or temporary, and the position may require protracted or irregular hours, including overtime, to meet production schedules. Minor travel may be necessary, and relocation to another facility could be required as business needs evolve. You will use equipment such as production machines, forklifts, overhead cranes, vacuum bagging systems, and computer-based tools running on Windows Operating System with MRP and product data management software. Certain tasks require wearing a full-face respirator, and while there is no additional personal protective equipment or medical monitoring specified beyond this, safe handling of materials and adherence to all safety procedures remain essential.

This is a Contract position based out of Marysville, WA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
